Genre and Purpose
George Elder specialises in street fashion photography, as it creates and reflects the meaning of identity. The purpose of George Elders street fashion photography is to create different moods and emotions that the location and different fashion collaborations bring out of people. The hybrid of genres used by Elder is effective as it makes his photography more interesting and engaging, gaining a wider audience to his work.
My initial reaction to this photo is that the man is in a rush to work, as the style of clothing he is wearing his casual smart. The movement of traffic may singify rush hour, meaning the photo could have been taken in the morning.
Techniques
George Elder has spontaneously taken this photo to capture the movements of life. The shallow depth of filed used is effective as it emphasises the fashion style the model is wearing. The fast pace movement created i

LO5: Meaning and Fitting the Brief
There is a lot of things that resembles Sheffield identity, and it was a hard decision choosing which idea to use to fit in the brief. From photographer I researched I decided that fashion in Sheffield would be the best idea to link to Sheffield's identity for me. However the fashion styles I used couldn't be any fashion styles across the world, they had to be Sheffield related. Sheffield is known for its urban, grunge, hipster style, but I still went out and researched the fashion that occurred in Sheffield. I ended up with a lot of styles that reflect fashion and Sheffield.
Using fashion in my photography helped create narrative, especially with linking it to Sheffield. I have brought many genres of Fashion, and was able to use lots of different camera techniques. I also got to experiment with editing my pictures, especially with colour and darkness, as this helped represent the fashions emotions to with the brief.

Cropping and Scaling
I mainly cropped my images to get rid of any unnecessary objects that were included in my photos. This helped emphasises the focal point of my images and the importance. I also cropped my images to help layer my photos, as only certain parts were needed in the photos when layering. When scaling my images
Layers
Layering was a important aspect for one of my photos, I was signifying the dominance and power in an outfit and location, so layering images helped double exposure as well as reflecting the meaning of the photo. Layering was also important as I had to blend the layers into the main/background image, so it was one image, as well as placing them in effective places to gain the best effect, to emphasise my meaning. I changed the opacity of the layers to blend them into they background, this created a ghost effect, which worked well with the photo.
Green Screen
I did not use a green screen in my photography, as I felt this would have taken away the feel of the city and location out of my photo; the location was a huge part of my intension for the shoot, so it wouldn't have fit in with the brief. However if I was to considered using a green screen, it would have come in handy for cropping and layering images. It is easy to select models from a plain background, which I could then place onto another photo, which for my shoot would have been a Sheffield location. I couldn't get access to a green screen unfortunately, which would have made the editing easier for me.
Text Image
I did considered adding text to my image to reflect the meaning on my photo; however I did not add text as I felt this would have made the photo to cluttered and may even take the attention away from the fashion and location. Using text would have been a significant part to the photo, which wouldn't have fit in with the brief my intension and this is why I did not use text in my photos.
Time of the day
To fit my photography with the brief I needed to take my photos outside in a Sheffield location. This meant that time of the day was very important when taking photos, as I was using natural lighting. The lighting I wanted needed to be high key, as this connoted a happy, enthusiastic emotion which would be reflected through the photo. As my photos were taken in high key natural lighting the aperture and capture were put on a low and fast setting, so that I could get the best result.
