My personal view on what makes a good photograph is these 3 words; Composition, lighting and contrast.
Composition is the placement or the arrangement of a visual element in your image. It creates different types of spaces, which can be negative. It's all about making your subject matter the main focus on your image. The reason why I believe this makes a good photograph is because it makes it relate to the theme that is being communicated.
Lighting enables you to control and cast shadows on images. This is a really important skill to have in photography as it makes your picture have a better quality, as well as easier to edit with.
Contrasting your image to make it lighter and darker in certain areas will enables you to allow focus o your subject matter. This is important as it can communicate different meaning in the image.
This year in photography I am wanting to achieve better and well composed images so that my editing skills can improve. This way my photos will be more efficient and professional looking.
Photography for me is expressing personality and capturing special memories and moments. It allows you to explore the elements and aspects and change them in your own unique way. My favourite part of photograph is coming to the editing stage.
“What i like about photographs is that they capture a moment that’s gone forever, impossible to reproduce.”
Karl Lagerfeld
The reason why I like this image is because I like fashion and stylistic photography. The lighting is well controlled and the composition is well put together. I also like how her makeup is very defined and dark to contrast with the light.
